4 things that are limiting your business growth
Giving it your all but seeing limited business growth? We’ve all been there. Every small business owner at some point or another has felt like they’re giving everything they’ve got, only to not see the results they wanted for their business.
There are several different reasons you might feel this way, and the only way to get through them is to figure out what is stopping you so you can properly address it and get the support you need.
Lack of consistency
Marketing coaches and consultants often talk about consistency, but what do they actually mean? There’s several layers to it when you’re talking about consistency from a marketing standpoint.
We could be talking about just showing up at all, and making sure that your business is in front of your target audience regularly. That’s one element. The second is the consistency of your message.
Most people need to see marketing messages on average seven times to truly notice and absorb them. So if your messaging is all over the shop and you’re not clear exactly what people can get from your product and why your product is the best one for them, you’ll never reach your full potential.
No clear strategy
So you’re showing up, you’re posting, you’re sending emails, you’re at all the usual events. Is that enough? Maybe, but again (And this goes back to the consistency of your message thing). People don’t just buy things.
Even when you think there’s a snap decision being made to purchase a product there is a whole bunch of subconscious thinking informing it. There are many different stages of the buying cycle.
Even if they’re only in each phase for a few seconds they’re going to be making judgments about your business based on the information they can find. People first become aware of your business and how it can solve their problem, then they look to see if they can trust you and only after that do they assess the nitty gritty details of whether your product does all they need it to.
This means that you need to talk about your business and product in different ways, depending on which of these things you’re trying to do. And you might be saying these things in different places. The way in which you’d share a client testimonial on email is very different to how you’d share it on social media.
That’s why it’s really important to have a clear strategy, so you know what to say when and how to tailor it to the platform that you’re saying it on. Only by doing this can you systemically push people towards a purchase decision for your business and encourage that dream business growth.
Which sounds really cold and passion-less, but that’s how you go from work of mouth referrals to knocking it out the park with your sales figures.
Feeling unconfident
All of this sounds really overwhelming I know. But if you never start, and never take those imperfect actions to try and achieve consistency, and work to a strategy, you’ll never elevate the work you’re doing, and the sales you’re getting.
Half the battle with this stuff is being confident enough to start. I’ve never worked a strategy that I haven't changed after a few months to better suit how customers are responding to it. So if it’s gonna change anyway, why are you worried about starting?
Get an expert opinion
Often, it’s that bit where we know we’ve got a steep learning curve ahead that’s the hardest to push through. There are some things we can figure out quickly as business owners, because we’re the experts on our audience and our business.
But there are some conclusions and insights and learnings you could never get to in a million years without another brain to guide you, support you and point out the things you just can’t quite get a grip on yourself.
Marketing coaching is rocket fuel for business growth
Imagine being able to cut that learning time in half. Getting guidance from someone with expertise in the marketing world, so you can just crack on with proven strategies, messages and create that sales machine you need to grow your business.
With marketing coaching you can get tailored one to one support that will complement your strengths and the things you’ve already achieved with your marketing. It gives you the confidence to perfect your marketing magic formula so you can hit your targets and level up your business.
There are other ways you could tackle the issues that might be limiting your business growth, but none can accelerate you as fast as bringing in an expert to give you some outside perspective.
